Why Peer-for-Peer Support Works
At Crayon Closet, we believe healing starts with connection.
Veterans, spouses, and families often carry experiences that are hard to explain to people outside of military life. Many feel isolated, misunderstood, or disconnected long before they ever ask for help.
Peer-for-peer support works because people open up differently when they feel understood.
Sometimes the most powerful thing someone can hear is:
“I’ve been there too.”
Our community is built on real conversations, shared experiences, accountability, encouragement, humor, and honest support from people who genuinely understand military life and the challenges that can come with it.
We are not therapists.
We are not a crisis center.
